Comparing Three Digit Numbers

First compare the hundreds digit. If the hundreds digits are same, then compare the tens digit. If tens digits are same then compare the ones digits.

For example: Let's compare 324 and 380.

Notice that both the numbers have three digits.

324 ____ 380

We start comparing from the hundreds digits.

Observe that, in both the numbers hundreds digit is three.
 

Now, compare the tens digits.

Hundreds	Tens	Ones

The tens digit in 324 is 2 and in 380 is 8.

 

Now, 2 is less than 8.

 

So, 324 is less than 380.
